Privacy
Last updated: November 2026
Short version: SyncWing cannot see your files, and we collect nothing. There is no account, no telemetry, no analytics, and no server of ours involved in your syncing.
What the app sends over the internet
Only what you explicitly configure:
- Cloud sync — your PC connects directly to your own OneDrive, Google Drive, or Dropbox account, using your own login. The connection goes from your PC to that provider; it never passes through us.
- Server sync — your PC connects directly to the SFTP/WebDAV server you entered.
- Update check — the app downloads one small text file (version.json) from syncwing.app to tell you a new version exists. This request contains no personal data — we cannot and do not identify you or your files from it.
For purely local sync (folder to folder), SyncWing never touches the internet at all.
What is stored on your PC
- Sync settings and your license key —
%APPDATA%\SyncWing - Cloud login tokens (issued by Microsoft / Google / Dropbox directly) and obscured server passwords —
%APPDATA%\SyncWing\rclone.conf - Version archives — the folder you chose during setup
None of this is transmitted to us. You can delete it at any time by uninstalling the app and removing that folder.
What we see when you buy
Purchases are processed by our payment retailer (Gumroad). They handle your payment details and email address — we receive only your name and email to fulfill the license, as required to deliver your key. We never receive card numbers.
Support emails
If you email support, we use your address only to answer you. Nothing is added to a marketing list.
Changes
If this policy ever changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new date. Material changes will also be announced in the app's release notes.
